U-Report Ghana reached out to students of King David Commercial Collage at Kpong, in the Eastern Region on the 23rdof November 2018. This was to share with the students about the platform created by UNICEF and its partners to help amplify the voices of the youth.
It was at an event called "Wasieni" which means "Let's Talk" which was organized by two of U-Report champions, Stella Darley Tetteh and Abigail Mamle Teye to create the platform for young people to freely interact with experts on their sexual reproductive health.
U-Reporter, Abigail Mamle Teye took the opportunity to tell the students about the initiative, its essence and how they can become a part of the U-Report family.
The students were impressed to learn about a platform that will give them the opportunity to share their opinions as young people and create the opportunity to be heard.
U-Report is free SMS-based tool designed to address issues among Ghanaians, and especially young people. Ghana is among the 47 countries who have embraced this innovative platform to provide relevant information that government and stakeholders need to work with to ensure change. With about 21,006 reporters in Ghana, UNICEF is still working on informing and motivating young people through platforms such as Wasieni to join U-report and make their voices matter.
